Hi,

Im New here but have been browsing for a while now..

Great forum...

I recently purchased a Fly book v5 Legally from a auction ..

Problem is it has a Bios Password on it ... I cant get any assistance from the FlyBook agents in S.a they say It will cost me about R15k to sort out...

Want to know if there is any one locally I can send it to , to remove for me .. or if any one can assist me in removing it myself.

I'm not too familiar with the Flybooks, but on most PC's if you remove power completely to the motherboard, then the CMOS/BIOS will lose it's settings (Incl the password) and everything will be reset back to default.

What you need to do is to remove the main battery and try to locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard. It's usually flat and round, about the size of a 50c coin, then remove it, and replace it after a few seconds.

I really don't know how accessible the CMOS battery will be though

Doesn't work on Laptops or Notebooks. I bought a Dell laptop once that had a password on. I had to solder a new chip on the motherboard to get it to work.

Ask the company how much a motherboard is and replace that.

If you forget the BIOS password, contact a service center or an authorized reseller to get help.
