I have phoned Fnb regarding their connection via ADSL 4 meg.Not much help from their consultant.I would like to try them out. Currently with Mweb.Yes I know the story of Mweb. What I would like to know is how good are Fnb speeds locally and overseas. As I am a bit intellectually challenged regarding the set up of routers is it easy to set up 2 connections on one router or should I buy another cheap router to try Fnb.I don't plan to ditch Mweb until I have tried Fnb.Main reason I don't use anywhere near my 5GB cap with Mweb.I am an Fnb account holder.

I use FNB connect aswell, easy to top up and good speeds locally, international speeds are ok but not great for mmo's etc imo
edit* high ish pings internationally

I thank you for your reply.Could you run a speedtest to New York or somewhere for me please.I can tnen compare the speeds agains Mweb.By the way I do not game or download illegal music or DVD's.If you could post the speedtests I would appreciate it.

Yes but you will have to use Bridge mode - search "bridge mode" on the forum - send Paula Biggin ([email protected]) an email with your login and your location and the issue you are experiencing...

Thanks.Signed up with Fnb today. However it would appear you cannot bridge a Netgear 834GT router that easily. Will look at different methods. After watching the cricket last night I am now to tired to try work the problem out.

Might I suggest you try Afrihost's R 29.00 / GB - they are also utilising IS and the account delivers the same if not better connectivity than FNB Connect's offering at R 69.00...

After 2 days I have finally managed to get the FNB connection to work.Almost purchased a new router.Turns out there was a problem with my password which I reset today.Same password as before.I have just run a speedtest on FNB to London.
Download speed 3,25mgb/s
Upload speed ,31 mgbs/s
Ping 401
Very impressive compared to Mweb.

Then try Afrihost, even better: It seems the lower the price, the higer the speed...

Hi. I just connected to the internet for the first time through my new "4-meg" line, via Fnbconnect... Just one prob, it's nowhere near 4Mb/s
Ping : 75ms
Down : 0.31Mbps
Up : 0.1Mbps

I can't seem to figure out the problem, I live in Pretoria and did the speed test to Joburg.
Help please.

Still no resolve it seems...
