FNB Connect Sip Problem

Hello. Hoping someone can help me resolve my issues. I have a sip account with FNB Connect. I have set up the account on the Huawei lte b593s-601 router. The router has an afrihost lte sim. I have a normal phone plugged into the router.

The service has been very unreliable so far. Often I cannot make outgoing calls. When I look at the voip tab on the router it says 'registering'. It fluctuates between 'registering' and 'registered' quite often. I also cannot dial 0861 numbers.

Settings:
User agent port: 6050
Proxy server address: 41.183.0.13
Proxy server port: 5060
Registration server address: 41.183.0.13
Registration server port:5060
Primary codec: g.729

I have also tested on a softphone using zoiper and Csipsimple. More reliable but still issues of 'registering'.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
 
Ping

The connection sounds like a problem.

Run a trace route and a long ping to their IP from that connection. Send the summary results here.
 
How is your general internet access? You getting decent speeds and ping on speedtest.net?

If that's fine it could be a NAT issue. Afrihost roam on MTN, and if they are NATing your traffic it could explain the registration issues. If you have coverage Telkom Mobile APN is unrestricted by default (allows unsolicited inbound connections) , otherwise there is also Vodacom, but you have to apply and configure it for the unrestricted APN.
