Hi

So I am trying to figure out what card you get with the various FNB credit cards. And it seems both Premier and Private clients give a platinum visa card, unlike Nedbank and Discovery, who give a visa infinite.

Does anyone know how this works with FNB?

Is there really a notable difference amongst those options for us to even care?

I would have thought

FNB Aspire == Disco Gold == Visa Gold
FNB Premier == Disco Platinum == Visa Platinum
FNB Pvt Clients == Disco Blak == Visa Signature (although Pvt client is also Visa Platinum)
FNB Pvt Wealth == Disco Purple == Visa Infinite

Yes quite a few. Lounge key access, travel insurance, extended warranty, etc.
I don't think these benefits matter to the majority of credit card holders.

So it's my fiirst time as well hearing that you get different levels of visa credit cards

Many people just aren’t aware of them and it’s quite sad really because they’ll often piss money away on additional things which they already have.

Every time I buy an appliance or TV and they try to sell me the extended warranty I’m like no thanks I’m paying with my card and every single time the sales person is fully aware it exists and comments on me being more clever than most.

It’s something people should be aware of and making use of to it’s full extent.

Yup I make sure all big ticket appliances are bought on the card that offers the highest warrenty.

Even though I haven't used it its there.

Yes, major difference. From purchase protection, comprehensive travel insurance, exclusive offers and discounts that are usually excellent value.

FNB has terrible purchase protection and the worst/cheapest in-house travel insurance partnership with TIC.

However, there is an annoying workaround with the Global account which is a Visa Signature card

There used to be somewhere on their website you could enter part of your card number to get all the details.

Slightly off topic, received a replacement credit card last week and seems FNB are still running out plastic with the old logo. This was on PW, other segments may have changed already.
