FNB fee saver

Huh?

It says 50k in the documentation.

Unless it’s only 35k for old clients who had it before maybe?

Exactly ... I am on the old fee saver.

Looking at the fees, I already pay R93.50 for my Credit Card and eB. I can leave R1 in my cheque account, invest the bulk and pay R199 for the bundled option.

I am going that way

My fees were not reversed this month, even though I was above the required balance. Same thing happened last year. Had to call them to refund me

I'm on the old fee saver with minimum balance of 10k, then no transaction fees. I now got an sms saying from 11th April I will be migrated to the "unlimited" option at R105 per month.

Utterly ridiculous. The bundles they have make this seem least costly. But that's still a huge change to suddenly kill the fee saver and rob customers.

Any advice?

You get migrated to the standard equivalent of your fee saver account, and in order to ensure the monthly fee is waived, you need to maintain a certain balance in your account.

This is now only available on premier from what I understand , need to maintain a min balance of R50 000

Do the sums what you will save putting a lump sum in your bond (if you have one)

Plan B, start an investment account killing the R100 odd rand spend on fees

Then rewards can also come into play

All the cards are infront of you ...

I am thrifty hence me being on the fee saver option, R105 pm is R105 too much for me.

I am aspiring for early retirement like Mr Money Moustache and many others, every Rand counts

@smiley-zn, do you have a home loan? If so, put the 10k in your bond, then you are saving R83 in interest charges p.m. and then only out of pocket R22 from this change that they are forcing on you.
