FNB Global Account - Saving ?

I planned to go overseas once a year and that was the main reasoning .

I did the 1st year (September 2019) and then with Covid, didn't do anything else. I think at 20 months I got a text to say it was deactivated because of lack of transactions - but after I asked to reactivate, seems it was done . This last 50.00 Euro went through

Great, I had the same issue some time ago. Since I did not use the account for a long period of time, they deactivated it. I had it activated last year and everything was working fine.

No need for me to go through the forex tab and processes, since this is technically a local account. I simply did the transfers by clicking on the normal Transfer Between Accounts function and did the transfer. During working hours the transfer took anywhere from 5 mintutes to few hours to reflect in my USD account. It never was an instant transfer though.

By the way, I was limited to transferring R1m a year if I remember correctly. I think it has to do with SARB limits imposed on how much money you could take out of the country.
