I just noticed this on their site:
Maybe they should skip IE8 while they're about it...
Anybody here that is going to be affected by this?
Question 1
Why is FNB no longer supporting IE 7?
Our policy is to support the latest three versions of browser, which are now versions 8, 9 and 10. IE 7 limits
the use of modern development tools and restricts access to more advanced browser-based security features.
Note: Windows XP users can only upgrade to Internet Explorer 8.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 Users can upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10.
Question 2
How do I upgrade my browser?
The easiest way is to do the following:
• Go to the main FNB home page
• Click on the Register link (just below the Login button).
• This will take you to the Registration Page.
• Click on Software Downloads in the upper left-hand corner and then the Internet Explorer option.
Question 3
What will happen if I don’t upgrade my browser and keep IE7?
As from the 9th June 2013, any user attempting to login from an IE7 browser will be blocked and unable to access the system.
Question 4
My company policies don’t allow us to download any other browsers, what are my options?
Since you will no longer be able to access your profile from an IE7 browser from the 9th June 2013, we recommend that you discuss this with the network administrator at your company.
Question 5
The Microsoft support lifecycle of Windows XP (of which IE 7 is a component of) ends on 08 April 2014, why is FNB ending support if Microsoft will continue to provide support?
Our policy is to support the latest three versions of browser, which are now versions 8, 9 and 10.
Maybe they should skip IE8 while they're about it...
