Anybody use FNB for home content and vehicle insurance? Is it worth it being an FNB client or is it a horror show when you try and claim?

I would never insure anything through a bank.
Their wording, excesses, premiums and attitudes suck.

I’ve learnt over the years you don’t insure with the same people who provide the finance for your house/car as it’s just always a **** show.

Only things I might consider are their Life Insurance options.

In FNB’s case I believe home and vehicle is basically rebranded Outsurance unless there has changed?

For home content and vehicle insurance FNB will just be your broker, you can still decide with whom you want to be with insured, for instance Santam. I have been with FNB Insurance Brokers for many years, best premiums, great service and no problems with claims. Once a year they request quotes from about 3 different insurers to see if your premiums are still in line and if they can’t save you money on lower premiums.

Changed ages ago. There's now an in house insurance broker and I think underwriter too.

Now that you mention it my insurance confirmation with them two or three years ago was a bizarre one when one of the other insurance companies contacted me on their behalf as a third party to do it.

Can’t remember which one.

But with Wesbank the Outsurance ties were still strong last time I asked for a quote but that was some five years ago.

So I'm basically just waiting for my home loan to be moved and then I'm done with FNB.

Investec uses Aon for insurance. Think I'll give them a call when the dust of the move settles.

I am with FNB insurance for a VERY long time. Very happy ! Glad they are joining the ebucks program shortly !

The FNB insurance leg was borne went Outsurance left the FirstRand group.

The new revised model for 2020 ... own brokers, not going via Sanlam etc.

What is the percentage u get back I ebucks if u move over to them.. Was with them and had no hassles.. But moved when I bought my new car as they couldn't match the premium with brytes insurance

15% on level 5. It is stated on the new rule link (FNB -> ebucks)

Take note ... its house (structure insurance only).

Any more recent feedback on FNB vehicle insurance? Their quote I'm getting online is on par with (even slightly cheaper than) other insurance companies. Factoring the ebucks you can earn it will work out the cheapest.

I've decided to move my car to FNB insurance. After playing a bit hard to get, they quoted me a great premium. Considering the 15% ebucks and additional R2/liter on fuel it's a bit of a no brainer.
