As usual, if mentioned elsewhere I didn't see/find it....

I got a call now from UTI to say they will be delivering my iPad2 tomorrow, taken a while but I wasn't in any rush so didn't even follow up on it.

Browsing FNB's site now I see a link to the offer and have a look only to find pricing that states the iPAd2 is R229 not R200 as I read everywhere else. I am pretty sure the lady on the phone said R200 but truth be told she could have said R300 for what my ememory is worth....

So, am I wrong in recalling the offer was for R200pm +R92 banking fees or has it suddenly changed and if it's changed, what am I going to pay and who can I call to find out. R29 extra per month is nothing but over 24months it works out to an extra R700 which just irks me out of principle.

Here's a link to FNB's site with the R229 pricing:

Or am I reading it completely worng? lol

yeah -- you missed this part

"The price of the device is subject to Exchange Rate fluctuations. Please note that while the price of the device quoted to you when you contract with FNB, will not change during the 24 month period, the fees on your Gold, Platinum Cheque Account and FNB Private Clients offer may change in line with our Annual Price review, effective 1 July 2012.

"

The original lauch price was indeed R200PM
I think they bumbed up the price recently, based on the high demand, but sadly most people will the find the offer worth it anymore.

I think if you signed up during the first few week, then you should still only pay R200pm, but please double check with them.

also i see there is a delivery fee, was that there before?

signed up for mine 1 day after it came out, paying R200 per month, no delivery fee, no other fees. so if there now is some other fees, basically comes to 'u snooze u loose' :P

you aren't saving much but at the same time you aren't paying interest so i think it is.

R4800 was a sweet deal tho....#ishouldnthavewaitedsolong

For some crazy reason....i was going to sign up at the end of this month. Look where that has gotten me

lookie here---- if you arent willing to spend money on apps the ipad is not for you.

you cant really do much with the free apps to be honest.....its entertaining for abt a week....ok maybe a week and a half

Here's why I'd like to get one.

1) when travelling overseas....everywhere is wifi enabled. plane, ferrie, hotel room, etc
2) browse the net at home. way easier than getting my laptop out etc etc
3) as an eReader
4) for my wife to use....cos i love her
5) i have no issue in buying apps I'd use
