I have a Vodacom-supplied Samsung SGH-Z500V phone, and I cannot get Fnb.mobi to work. The phone is 3G, WAP 2.0 compliant, and customised for "vodafone live!" (hence the V in Z500V). It is data-enabled, and I have a 64K SIM card.

I registered with FNB cellphone banking, and followed the procedures as described here for Fnb.mobi. But when I enter the URL sent to me, I get the following error message:

"Security Error: The server certificate does not belong to this server"

I phoned FNB Cellphone Banking, who referred me to Vodacom for the correct settings for the phone. Vodacom said they didn't have any specific settings for FNB cellphone banking, and referred me back to FNB for the settings.

When I contacted FNB cellphone banking again, they put me on hold for a while and when they returned (without a solution) they promised to get a "technical expert" to call me. This didn't happen. As I have better things to do at work that hang on in call centre queues, I gave up.

Is there anyone who understands this problem?

Thanks.

As far as I know this is a FNB problem because the security certificate that goes with the software, because of the Cellphone Banking, is not accepted by the FNB server software. They have to give you a new software certificate and help you to setup the software to talk to there system (security wise).
Well it is something like that.
