Got the 9700 bold, my first BB. I cannot log in to FNB online banking site.

The site loads, but as soon as I enter my user name and password, it does not load or do anything.

Is there maybe some that had a similar problem or can someone tell me if I need to change the encoding?

There is simply no way for the blackberry browser to load the FNB page, no matter which combination of settings you change. The site relies heavily on CSS and frames, both of which kills the BB browser.

Best bet is to try using Opera on the BB, or cellphone banking.

Who is to "blame" here FNB or the BB Browser?

Thanks for the replies... sucks that the R5000 phone cannot do my internet banking :(

Opera mini works. I was under the impression that browsing will not be free when using other browsers than the one installed, but after double checking a couple of times, it seems like I am not charged for browsing with opera mini.

Great stuff!!! :D

If you actually use the wap site instead of the website then you can get into IB with no issues, FNB should however setup an automated redirect when a mobile phone attempts to access IB site.
FNB does however have enhance CB security so it verifies against your phone number so no other user can get into your IB from their phones, but once i registered mine was working perfectly. For the most part the problem is with FNB, but some BB users are also daft enough to set their browser identifications to Firefox or Internet Explorer instead of BB and then no site would redirect tot he mobile version/template.

Guys some good news! I just loaded BB6 onb my 9700 and loaded the FNB site on my phone. Works just like it would on a pc!

I use either Operamini or Bolt browser to do my banking on my BB's.

Just make sure they using BIS and not internet for connecting else you pay for it, as for IB FNB has a portal for that, fnb.mobi. Its what i use on my handset to do my banking.

How is this better advice than just using the fnb mobile site, last time i checked access to the mobile site was not R6499??

Try R3800 when buying abroad - out of the box - unlocked - in much better condition and of quality than that of South African batches!

Also, in all likelyhood you are using your prepaid phone to make and receive calls and play games.

Some people are on the move and run a business from their phone. I am one.

And yes, we need to do this with the phone,

Thats still not a better argument than using the mobile portal, its free, if you have internet banking then you have access to the mobile portal, R3800 to get a new phone to use the website is simply daft when you can use the wap site on almost any phone, blackberry or not.

Fnb.mobi works nicely on BB's but the real treat is how well the BB Torch handles the full FNB.co.za site. If you don't have access to OS6 then the mobi site will do most things you need.

Hi there, tested the fnb.co.za site on BB now. It redirects automatically to the mobi site now.

Finally they had the good sense to not link the site to your mobile number. Too many different phones and browser options now for that to be a truly viable solution. What confuses me is the need for captcha though.
