Hi,
I moved to FNB in November, and i received a platinum cheque, and recently received a platinum credit card.
after checking and complaining i was told no premier cards available until july (even though an email was sent to me to choose the design of my new premier card).

did anyone manage to get a Premier cheque or CC from FNB?

Premier and Platinum are the same thing. They renamed Platinum to Premier.

bar1 wants the physical card the way I read it.

I had delays getting new cards done late last year. They arrived after a few weeks when it is supposed to take days.

Geez, who cares what the card looks like, unless you're a status whore.

^ This. Everyone has platinum nowadays in anycase. Rather get silver and show the world you are not a twit overpaying for banking.

PS: Yes I have platinum and yes I need to downgrade.

Exactly. I'm also guilty of falling into the platinum trap. Paying R300 a month for nothing. I don't really use any of the "benefits", except maybe using the Slow lounge once every 6 months. I really need to downgrade to silver like you suggest.

FNB have been hassling me to go private for months now and I keep refusing, why would I want to pay more for banking?!?
I still have the original platinum card I got 2 years ago(I fly alot lounge access made it worthwhile)

If a company promise me x and give me y ,i get annoyed.
am i gonna make a big fuss about it?probably not...:-)
just annoyed that i have 2 cards that look the same (except the words, cheque /credit) so i was excited about the "choose your card's design option".

I have a gold card. Costs me R100 a month. I have no reason to upgrade.

Same here.
I don't want to pay nearly R200 extra per month for services I'm not going to use.

It's actually R100 extra.

I pay R200pm for my premier bundle and definitely happy with it.

Besides the shiny card, I wouldn't want to downgrade since that might change my ebucks rewards and the dedicated call center has proved to be quite handy for me.
At least no long waits in a queue.

My mistake - I was thinking of the Private Clients Cheque Account.
I was offered a Private Clients Cheque Account which is R270 per month for unlimited or R345 per month bundled.
I'll keep my R100 Gold cheque account.

Does anyone actually have a premier card, or are they all still platinum?

There is a very good reason to pay the extra R200 for banking, eBucks! The only reason I moved up to Private Client is because of the eBucks cap on Platinum / Premier. Right now, FNB is paying me back 7x more back than what I'm paying in banking fees.

It depends on what you spend your money on.
If you have a lot of in store purchases and swipe your card then it's worth it but in my case nearly all of my salary goes into a house bond, vehicle, creche fees, water and lights account, security, etc. all of which earn me zero eBucks because they're EFT payments or debit orders.

Do you refill your car or do shopping at all ? I know cash is king ! But to earn eB spend wisely and get rewarded

I have all of that too but I have changed the way I pay these things to earn more ebucks, e.g. lights and water I pay at Checkers. All you need to do is adjust your spend slightly and you can potentially earn A LOT of eBucks.
