FNB eBucks crash

FNB says it is experiencing technical difficulties with its eBucks functionality. Earlier today, the webpage presented an error message, and its support team told some customers that the shop had been shut down.

However, FNB has told MyBroadband that there is a “technical glitch” surrounding eBucks functionality that its teams are currently trying to resolve.

Oh the shop section is just down...but this has happened plenty of times before when they are updating it's nothing new.

If they shut it down they would surely just have removed the "Shop" button.

Maybe their store will now become a pop-up Black Friday Store with the 40% discounts. I guess it's ok that Hirsch is now a partner so a nice place to spend ebucks instrad of just Takealot. Yes, I am miffed that I have spend them at 1:1 and no 40% discount, but it's in a way free money for me considering, I don't go through many hoops to get to RL5 and all my spend is real spend and not fake spend (wish mines was fake spend!!)

I remember the days of 40% Makro cards. Also got myself the PS4, iPad, TVs from the shop.

You will be missed.
That was the period, in which those discounts, literally furnished my house !!

They still continue to do so, but now at 1:1 rate. Recently replaced all my CCTV stuff via Takealot

I can't remember the last time I looked at the store. Except for the PS5 on Black Friday a couple of years ago, it's had nothing of use to me for a few years now so I just don't even bother.

Like you my eBucks are a 1:1 thing mostly for Takealot, so I usually get up to about R15 or R20k and then buy something decent. Last couple of big purchases were a new washing machine in May and a fancy ass smart ink printer last month.

So 1:1 for stuff I need or 40% discount on stuff I don't really, but it's a bargain? Nah, 1:1 works for me every time.

Haven't used the store in over a year from what I can recall so no major loss to me.

But I feel like this happens every year after the new rules first kick in so reeks of MyBB fear mongering.

FNB chipping away at the value proposition of ebucks... No more 40% stuff, no black Friday.

It's almost like you can't use eBucks to buy stuff at a great many other places for similar discount levels.

Besides guaranteed they wouldn't kill the Store, they might kill the website to move it to the App though.

Well, if you look on the app... The ebucks shop is gone.

With regards to the sarcasm, yes you can use the ebucks else where, but losing the 40% ebucks shop is a cut in value and its a trend that FNB has been on for years.

I think you can get discounts in the partner stores (I remember reading about this when they first launched partner stores, but I haven't seen anything that's been on discount).

I wonder why that happened?

The shop has been down for about a week now already. There are no deals so nobody noticed.
