How are the rates on these cards? I figured with my good credit rating I should be able to get a card now?
Always wanted a cc for online purchases... Especially paypal and gaming etc etc

Get a virgin money credit card, its free. Unless you spend quite a lot on your credit card you will lose out. The annual fee is close to R500 at all the big banks. But not at VMSA.

just get a FNB visa cheque card

This. Unless you really want a Credit card getting a cheque card is the smarter choice. Works perfectly with pretty much every online retailer worth a toss without hastle.

+1 on the cheque card.

The only time you need a CC is when a provider needs to block a certain amount, and reverse the block at a later date, for eg. car hire companies.

ok thnx for the replies

just looking for something to buy online with :)

will have a look at vm aswell

Look at ABSA as well for a credit card. What I like about ABSA with regards to credit cards is that they allow you to make your possible overdraft much smaller than FNB does. When I moved to FNB I asked them to make it as small as possible, and that amount is about 70 times larger than it was with ABSA. I've considered taking my credit card back to ABSA, but I like the E-bucks at FNB.
