I see FNB have added smart device to their account list - my balance being -R1200.00 (6 months worth).
As it is an account, does that mean I can simply transfer the R1,200.00 to the Smart Device account to clear it - and a new device?
They won't allow early settlement. Not for the outstanding amount, anyway. You need to pay for the difference between contract price and retail price as well.
Oh noes that's not on .......if they would change it the way OP suggested they have the added benefit of people wanting to buy more smart devices from them, but now I have to wait 2 years. Just my 2centsI doubt they would allow it, unless you pay "full retail price"
My note 2 I got for R6800. Full retail price is R8000. So if I want to settle early I must pay the outstanding 18payments + the R1200 discount I got.

The point of it is that they lock you in as a banking client for two years. Profit from bank fees > profit from smart devices.
Interesting.
My benefits (ebucks etc) exceed my fees, considerably. Yeah they make money off me with interest though![]()
I upgraded from a gold to platinum cheque account
You also need to spend more to get the discount ...

To get R50 back p/m you need to
have an active Credit Card with a
monthly spend of:
R1 500 (Gold Credit Card )
R5 000 (Platinum Credit Card)
R10 000 (Private Clients Credit Card)
Does anybody know what the full prices are like for the iPad 3's? Want to settle mine asap, sent them a mail but I don't think they'll get to my request with great urgency (from past experience).
