Hi guys,

Me and the wife are looking to get our first tv set together and would appreciate your assistance. The UA46F6400 and blu ray bundle for R565 pm looks attractive. What do you think of the television itself? I can't seem to find proper reviews from brother Google?

Is 46" big enough(will be watching from approximately 2.8m away) bearing in mind that my wife has an eye condition?

Our main use for the tv will be netflix and hulu related, is our current 4Mbps uncapped dsl line sufficient for a decent viewing experience?

Lastly I've noticed that telkom are doing deals on television sets lately, how do they compare with the deals offered by FNB?

Thanks in advance for your assistance, I'm quite the noob when it comes to these kind of things...

R865.00pm for the 55" ... hmmm

I'm 2.5m away from my 46" and I'd go larger - that said, it's not small at that distance .... just average. TV set it great tbh and I believe that 4mbit is alright at for streaming 480 at least.

Thanks - didn't know about them. At R1,152.00 I assume Series 7 ... also Quad Core. But there are very few details ... what broughtband do I sign with Telkom?

How many months do you have to pay it off in? Im looking at the TV + Xbox + Blu ray for R499, but i cant see how long the payment period is?

So, Maybe I should consider the 55" then. I wondered what the difference in UA, UE and UN made to the specific models. Probably just region codes or something?

Maybe I should wait a bit and see what 2014 delivers?

I will suggest you wait. I am also looking at getting one of the deals from them.

At the same time waiting is going to be more expensive - and the wait is probably 6+ months.

I'm considering ... with the Telkom one I have ADSL that I have to pay anyhow and won't be cancelling in the next 2 years. I'm wondering if I can someone do something with that?

Just FYI - Telkom is pretty expensive (and their shops are useless .... wow)

The 55" (Telkom) is the 55F7500 @ R1,152.00pm (R27,648.00) and the TV cash is R23,000.00
The 55" (FNB) is the 55F6400 @ R865.00pm (R20,760.00) and the TV cash is R15,000.00 - but you get a 'free' surround system which is probably R3k or R4k makes sense.

I've also just noticed the TV is gone from FNB ...

Yup also noticed that. WRT to waiting, I'll see how I feel next week. Will probably buy one cash now... Maybe even second hand.
