Why is the Search function on vBulletin still so utterly broken after YEARS? I'm sure there are many threads like this one already, so I apologise in advance.

Anyway does anybody use this and what sort of trouble am I looking at? At what kind of usage do you run into throttling and how bad is it?

I realise Torrents are blocked (are they really?) but what about NZB's for instance?

Just use Google to search. Type site:mybroadband.co.za searchterm, and you'll see all pages on this site that have searchterm in them.

I do have FNB uncapped at home, and I have no problems with it. Performance is decent, its stable, its free, Skype works perfectly, and torrents aren't blocked. They are heavily throttled but not blocked.

I don't think Mybb has been upgrading.

Nah vBulletin just sucks balls in this regard, even on latest versions.

Good idea will remember in future.

What line speed you got and what sort of usage do you get every month?

Any chance you do Netflix?

Quite curious how it performs for iTunes/Netflix/Hulu/HBO as well.

Considering switching from MWeb to FNB...but losing FON is making me hesitant. As well as concerns as to how well it performs for streaming (I stream a lot)

Nope I don't use Netflix, or Hulu, or anything like that.

I don't even stream youtube that much, to be honest. I'm on a 4mb line.

Steam usually downloads at around a maximum of 200kb/s, if I remember correctly. I do sometimes see downloads faster than that, but not often. Its been a while since I monitored Steam though, I usually just let it do its thing.

With torrents, it depends on the torrent, but usually a maximum of 100kb/s per torrent, and around 200kb/s total. I think I've seen 250kb/s. Getting 100kb/s per torrent is kinda rare though, only happens in ideal conditions. Normally 20kb/s or so.

Its alright for medium usage, if you are a heavy user, you will be frustrated.
