Hey guys, Here's my story, i recently finished my 1 year course at CTI and have started a Bsc CS course at UNISA. I've applied and got my FNB lifestart student acount and have been using it for about a month or two now, I'll get to my point now, I recently got offered a job and i think i'll be working there untill i finish my degree(so probably will stay at that place for 2 maybe to 3 years). The pay is 6k/pm. I was wondering should i still stick with the lifestart account or is there a better option at FNB?

The bank charges from FNB are very reasonable. In fact they pay me every month to bank with them (due to all the benefits). You are at the right place, now just find the product that will best suite your needs.

Me: Ja well no fine...........

Open a cheque account ASAP. This is the only way to start building up a credit record with a bank. Start seeing yourself as an employee and not a student anymore.

Yes I agree FNB charges are reasonable. Even though it can be argued that Capitec Bank is probably the cheapest but there are limited things you can do. Like for example buying airtime and doing other stuff online. With FNB you do have all those options. FNB is cheaper than the other big 3 (ABSA, Nedbank, Standard). But according to the laws apparently they can't advertise charges on public platforms but only services (I stand to be corrected on this one).
