Focus ST vs 135i

Cool useful explanation, and from previous posts it sounds like the ST has turbines to suck air in where as the 125i does not and relies on forward movement to get its air? Which explains why the ST has more power at higher altitude

joh!...:D

If they have is only because they steal engines from other car company's eg Volvo, if it wasn't for there T5 engine going in the ST i would hate to see how useless it would be

...hang on now, where does that FSi engine in the GTi come from?from another company?yes Audi

:D
My Citi was fater than the RSi!:p
Polo is much faster.
Are you really getting the C30 T5? I took one on, expecting to lose because its supposed to be quicker than a ST, I kept up and just pulled about 50cm in front. not bad... for me!!:)

I have a few baby mods, Seat intake and strut brace... the intake is a little piece of plastic but the amount of torque I get now is unbelievable!!!

C30, Very cool car, very rare. Congrats and enjoy!:)

There is no way in hell a Citi would take an RSI - especially not a 1.6i! The only one which would give it a tough time is a 1.8i.

I've showed you graphs and stats numerous times - and you should be able to use logic too? A 110kw Fiesta ST runs away from a Golf 1.6i by far ... and the RSI is on par with a Fieta ST.

I've said over and over and over again you are welcome to bring any Citi 1.6i and see what happens.

My brother had (he's on your VW club forum too, btw ...) a standard Citi Life 1.6 which we tried robot to robot againt me. It wasn't even close in 1.6 guise!

He's now modded to a 1.8, cam, exhaust etc etc and now he takes me by a car under a car length to 100km/h ... but thereafter the brick aerodynamic takes it's toll. Do yourself a favour and post it on the (bias) VW forum and let them tell you what an RSI does to a strock 1.6. I think most would agree ith me.

Perhaps you're lucky to get a Citi 1.6 that get's to 100kmH in 7 seconds and a Polo GTI that does it in 5 seconds - but that's not the norm ;)

I got the C30 T5 yesterday. R Design ... less than 150 in the country ;)

Damn Dolby congrats...

Are you gona do a review?

Pls tell me its not in those ugly brownish type colour???

well thing is dolby :) about the RSi

you should be thrashing a 110kw Fiesta ST ! thing that bugs me the most, 141Kw 1.8 (only company to get this much out of such a small engine) has to be either at the flywheel or BS.. you should be running a car length behing a Golf V GTi

but i do agree no 1.6i citi will take an RSi to 100 :)

I'd say because all those BMW's and Audi's are 1. Overrated and 2. Follop!

Personally it's a hard choice between these three.

1.I'd go with the Volvo based on the engine and included kit, but the resale is something I'd worry about? Is Volvo seen as a good brand?
2. The BMW only because of perhaps better resale, and for the snob in me.
3. The Audi, I probably would not look at and I can't even get a test drive in the 2.0 TFSI (none available to test).

Amazing how different perceptions are ;)

Out of Volvo, BMW or Audi - I'd only look at the Audi first and then the Volvo. I wouldn't even consider the BMW as I feel they're far from snobish.

My initial choice was Audi S3 - was it was too expensive. The next would be the C30 providing it came with a sports kit. I was lucky enough to get an R Design, of which is a better looked (IMO) than both. It's rare - and with the 19", alluminum mirror housing, colour, lower ride height, R Design sport package and Xenon ... it alot more head turning that an A3 or 1 series.

I actually bought the car with 40,000km on the clock - so the previous owner has already taken the initial knock and I'm not too concerned with it dropping further.

As standard, I think the Volvo offers alot more than BMW or Audi.

Agreed, a lot more in most departments...but even better its RARE! Whereas a R350 000 BMW will pull up to 5 other R350 000 BMW owners and not even greet each other or give a nod of approval

I'm funny in that way but I always hated it whenever another ST driver would flash me or wave at me. To me it was like we were supposed to be this brotherhood or clan just because we drive the same car. I never waved back at them because I wanted no part of their little "club". To me a car is just a piece of metal (granted, a very nice one in the case of the ST) and I never form any sort of emotional attachment to my cars.

On this subject, I find it irrational to be brand loyal. To me a good car is a good car, irrespective of who made it. There are BMWs, Mercs, Fords, VWs and yes, even Alfas, that I really like. To me, brand loyalty clouds one's judgement. If the motor companies want loyalty they should get a dog. They feel a f*** for me and the feeling is reciprocal from my side.
