Should I buy a 1 bedroom in the vicinity of the beachfront [say 1 - 4 roads away]
A 2 bedroom in a slightly less Desirable location - sayyy.... 6 minute drive.

Both tiny and the same price,

2 bedroom 40m/2 - away from beach
1 bedroom 32m/2- near beach

A friend recommended I rather rent till I find something I really want but so tired of paying rent

Easier to just walk to the beach when closer and you will go often, if you buy father away it becomes a pain to drive down.

Insurance wont cost you a lot.

Plus you can walk to the beach as part of training.

32sqm? Ever so slightly bigger than a double garage... Personally I couldn't live with that much space but there's a lot of people that can and do. I'd buy the one near the beach if I had to choose. As you said both are tiny. At least if you want some air you can walk on the beach with the one. I'd imagine the 2 bedroom has smaller bedrooms than the 1 bedroom.

Geez, my bedroom is about the size of the smaller flat. That's ridiculously tiny.

This isn't really buying to live in for a prolonged time - its just a first apartment to either eventually sell or let, so question is more- which would be the better investment-

PS I can live in a cardboard box as long as I have my big screen TV, bed and computer.

As an additional question what should I look out for when viewing flat-

Obvious ones I know:

Peeling paint,
Plugs switches,

I am only getting a unit with prepaid electricity
Additionally only getting a unit where Levy includes water

The tiny 2 bed won't really appreciate all that much to be honest. You'll have more space in the slightly smaller 1 bed and on the beach means it will appreciate in line with the other properties, relatively speaking.

Personally, I wouldn't live in either, but if I was forced to make a choice it would be the 1 bed.

Remember that if this is short-term, then you're probably better off renting for the time being. The costs involved in the sale need to be factored in here...

I would think the closer one would more in demand with holiday renters..

A friend of mine said the same - surely renting you are throwing away 4k+ a month for nothing.... with a minimum of a years lease It would cost me 48k too rent -

How does that compare to the additional costs when purchasing an apartment
