Hi

Having an oil based fondue tomorrow, need some creative tips.

Any ideas?

Apart from the usual meats and a variety of dipping sauces I like to have some assorted veg on the side with a bowl of tempura batter.

Oil fondue noob here.
What meats do you normally use and how are they cut/prepared? do you use the same fondue pot as for a cheese fondue?

I just use bite sized pieces of beef, chicken and pork - use a good, tender, cut of meat because you don't cook it for long.

Try buying a couple of sosaties and just taking the meat off the stick. Its a bit messy with the marinade but it taste great. Also try Crumbed mushrooms.

I like that idea. Was thinking broccoli and cauliflower pieces to dip in the batter with a cheese sauce. Mmmmm

Nice chunky slices of chorizo with a cheese (gruyere or similar) sauce. Could also use russians maybe as an alterntive to chorizo

Have a little chocolate pot with marshmallows for dessert afterwards.

Prawns, Rump, Sausages cut up (Bratwurst, Bockwurst etc), Pickled veg is great for a fondue, lots of bread, Mushrooms.

How do you make your crumbed mushrooms?

Splash your mushrooms with Lemon juice, let them sit for a couple of minutes then dip in egg, dip in seasoned breadcrumbs then fry

Sounds simple enough, will give it a go

Oil based meat fondues? Y'all a bunch of Poofters. Just dump the meat into a big frying pan and serve it with generous veg and potatoe sides instead of Fecking around fork fishing.

It's not a fondue unless there is a cheese pot!
