So I'm currently on a bit of a mission to get fit, build some muscle, and be generally healthy.

I'm working out using body weight exercises combined with a bit of cardio, but I have read that a lot of the process comes from one's diet.

Can anyone make any recommendations as to what I should be eating? I am quite skinny so ideally I would like to be able to look lean with a healthy amount of muscle (not supersize), I'm not weight training but will possibly be doing so in the future after body weight exercise gets easier.

Thanks

Pooky, would it be a stretch to suggest to you that you seek the services of a Dietician and consequently a Trainer, that you can then get the whole picture specifically for you, and how to reach those goals?

The main reason I say this is because some advice is applicable in general. Then some things are specific for the individual. If I were you, I'd spend a little time (& a bit of money) just getting a clue of what you specifically require, and what the best route for you would be in both diet and your training.

Good Luck & Get Fit! :D

Thanks, but at the moment that's not possible financially. For future I will keep that in mind

It's quite easy and straight forward. No sugar. At all. Not even sugarfree stuff. Water only.

Veggie Juice freshly squeezed. Anything living and not processed.

Just those and you'll do fine

And carbohydrates like bread and potatoes? Must I cut those out?

Would suggest just cutting down not cutting out completely, but don't have carbs at dinner time - rather eat them at lunch / breakfast if you are going to have. Everything in moderation :p

Swop out the baked potato at dinner for some salad or other veggies :)
