hey ya'll

I couple of days ago, I woke up unable to move my ankle proparly.

I went to my GP who referred me to a neurologist. I was admitted to hospital and had brain and spine MRI's done. All of which came back normal.

I also had bloodwork done for auto-immune diseases. All came back negative. Nerve conduction test all fine.

The official diagnosis is 'foot drop' and the only treatment going forward is physio twice a week.

This is driving me insane, Im 31 and cant walk a couple of meters without tripping over my own left foot.

Does anyone have an experience with this sorta thing?

Thanks

Rb

That sounds hideous OP. Now that you mention it, I have seen one or two people walking and dragging one of their feet so they've probably got foot drop.

Sorry to say it but at least there's nothing major wrong.

I think the worst part of it all is - knowing something is wrong, but all the tests came back negative.

Just an update in case someone stumbles onto this thread in future.

The cause for my previous unexplained drop foot has been found. I have a granuloma around a part of my common peroneal nerve. This mass has been compressing the nerve causing the paralysis in my lower leg.

Weekly cortisone injections have started to shrink the mass to the point where i can walk without a brace again.

Take care
