Footer in Word 2013

Any IT guru here know how to lower the upper border of a footer margin in Word 2013 ?

The footer margin on page 1 of the doc is much "broader" than on the other pages.

Can't you just it in the ruler on the right hand side? I would check the settings as it seems you have "Different first page" ticked somewhere.

I thought so, but that is actually the distance of the text in the footer from the bottom of the page! I ended up getting it right by some fluke; cannot even remember how.
