Force 3G on the afrihost mifi device?

Is there anyway to get the connection to stay on 3G, I get some fair speed on the low signal 3G but it always seems to revert to the 2G setting

MDMA has a "bug" that resets the MiFi back to factory defaults when the program starts, for me at least.

Use the Afrihost Application.

Go to:
Dialup>>Mobile connection>>change from Auto to Manual
Then
Dialup>>Network settings>>change from Auto to 3G only
Then
Dialup>>Mobile connection>>change from Manual to Auto

Each time remember to press apply and wait for confirmation.

This is probably the safest way to get it done
If any settings are greyed out you'll need to drop your active session.

I never had to do it. The trick is just to refresh page and redo the Auto/Manual changeover?

From the feedback I've seen it can depend Either or will work though.

Sometimes there would actually be no throughput whatsoever if 3G is enabled and you in a dead spot. Even though it displays MTN 3G with 0bars, you should get throughput but unfortunately this wasn't the case for me

Does Mobile Partner have the same "bug"?

My E5776s-32 mobile WiFi keeps rebooting and resets the settings to default when I plug it via USB and open either MDMA (latest beta 2) or Mobile Partner.

Doing this from the web interface sorted it for me. My connection is much better now.

Thanks guys, lifesaver thread. mine kept reverting to 2G, and was pulling my hair out and thinking of canceling, as 2G is next to useless
