Hi Guys n Dolls, I have a 2019 Ecosport, have done 38 000 Km's, and i recently had to have the brake discs skimmed and new pads put on.
At 1st service I still had 7mm second service 4mm so I knew i would need to change them at 3rd service, yet the left hand pads wore down to 0 within 8 000 Km's. Only the left not the right. Was told it was due to heavy braking which is nonsense I have been driving an automatic for many many years and never had a problem, usually had to change pads at round about 45 - 50 000 and have never had to skim discs. So should i be concerned that there is an underlying problem? One Ford guy said it was because the disc on the left was warped due to being hot then going through a puddle which cooled it. Okay, so now I need to avoid puddles? Cant stay off work when it rains! Please give me some advise as I feel the underlying problem is not being dealt with. Thanks

When I had my Fiesta 1.0T , I replaced the brake pads with Brembo pads and Ferrado rotors, much better than the ones that came with the car. Pads costed about R700.00 for both sides, rotors where about R1000.00 each but much better and less dust then the originals, thinking of doing the same to my Audi A6 the OEM ones create too much dust makes the wheels look ugly.

Also if you have a powershift gearbox check the recall site if you have an active campaign. TCM replacement.

I have seen the same issue on the new Figo, it must be a Ford problem.
