Ford Figo

Yea - brother bought one and loves it as well
 
I had a 1.6 Bantam and have a 1.3 Focus. Got a chance to drive a 1.4 Figo the other day. Quite nippy, and easily accelerates as fast at the 1.6 rocam.

Drive is good but the gear lever bothered me a bit, maybe because I'm tall, it felt a bit to far back, couldn't rest my hand passively on it like I do/did with my previous cars.

Looking at this vs the 2010 Hyundai Getz. The Getz has more features; remote central locking (as opposed to manual central locking); electric windows, but the Ford I think looks better - so it's looks over features.

I needed to buy a car very urgently. It was the only one available brand new at the dealer. If they had a petrol I probably would have bought that. In hind-sight, perhaps a good choice!?! Time will tell tho.
 
Great small car with a nice engine but let down by the cheap interior though.

I actually prefer the Figo shape to the new spaceship Fiesta.

Look at the price point you can't expect an Audi interior but the Figo defininately could be better. I mean look at the Picanto interior at the same price:

But then with the Picanto it has a crappier engine and it doesn't look so hot from the outside.

I had the exact same two cars to choose from. Was leaning towards the figo, right up untill the point i saw in the brochure that the getz produces more power. You cant beat that, im afraid :)

LOL! Crappier engine? The 1.25 engine of the Picanto is more powerful than that of the Figos 1.4 as well as much more fuel efficient. Is that your definition of crappy? Looks is subjective, I could argue the Picanto is a fresh new design compared to a face lifted 10 year old Fiesta :)

They are both good cars so its up to you, test drive both and take it from there.

Basically:
Figo = Bigger, more subtle styling, made in India, Builds on the Fiestas good name in S.A.
Picanto = newer, more powerful, more economical, better interior, more features (bluetooth, alloys, climate control etc), made in Korea.
 
go with the Getz, nicer than the Figo. Picanto feels like driving a plastic cup. i10 is ok, every second student car is an i10 these days.
 
Have you driven the new Picanto?? It really can't be compared to the old one (which wasn't half bad). If you are referring to the new one I don't see how the one can be ok and the other a plastic cup when they are pretty much the same vehicle.

The Getz is old tech and replaced, avoid unless you get a super deal.

Pooks test drive all cars mentioned and take it from there.
