ford Ikon Radio code

Hi Guys

searched around, and nowhere is it simple.

Im trying to unlock a ford Ikon radio, the 6000 CD version
replaced a battery and now it asks for a code.

went to Ford dealer, but nothing is ever easy at a dealer, says must disassemble the radio and confirm who owns the car and then we can find the Code for you.

is there a simpler way? got the VIN number shouldn't there be a database with what the radio serial number is online somewhere?
Or is this system expected to generate Money for Ford anywhere in the world.

If it has a Blaupunkt (Ford Branded) Radio, then you can dowload a Blaupunk Code generator. You input the radio serial number and it gives you two possible codes.

needs the serial number, not sure if for that the radio needs to come out first.

makes sense to have the serial number as a code needs to be generated... i think

EDIT: The fastest one is by turning the stereo unit ON and pressing 1 and 6 buttons for a few seconds.

but did already google the world flat about this,
not much info out there.

pretty much one has to disassemble the radio entirely and check from there.

There is a separate manual for the radio, it's not in the car manual.

Tried the 1,6 hold down code, didn't help me

Any other way of finding out the serial number?

Tried carcat.org to look it up
No luck there.

Is my only option to disassemble the radio and look at what the code is?
