I have a Ford Focus ST, 2014 model and have lost the key last night.

Went to the rugby at Ellis Park. After the game unlocked the car, stood around for an hour or so, and then got in my car and drove to a friend's house. Was there for a couple of hours. Then decided to go home, but couldn't find my key. Searched everywhere, inside the car and out. Surprisingly, the car starts, which to me shouldn't be possible without the key, right?

I think I might have lost it, at the rugby parking spot, after unlocking the car.

Can someone, with a Ford keyless entry car, please see if this is possible:
1) unlock the car
2) put key outside range of car
3) try to start car

If this is not possible, then it only make sense that the key is somewhere inside my car.

Sounds like the key might have fallen out in the car - perhaps between the seats or even now under the seat. Doubt the car would start without the key being within range.

I have a Toyota with keyless entry. If you shut the doors with the key inside, and no passengers the car beeps, and the doors will not lock. Does that not happen on Fords?

Oh My Word! Never mind then. Looks like it's Citi Golf for me :o

My vehicle is almost paid off. I will never spend R4000 per month for a vehicle again unless my salary is over R700K per annum. Too many lost investment opportunities ...

My one falls in the hole by the hand brake .Twice this has happened , I no longer keep keys in left pants pocket .
The hole is only there when the hand brake is up .
Pain in the ass to get it out .

I have the same car. The sensors on mine are a little ridiculous.
To get in and out my complex I have to swipe a tag, which I have connected to the same key ring as the car key. If i dont swipe fast enough, the car hoots and pops up a key outside of car message.

Maybe you can help, have you got the car to automatically lock the doors when driving away? There is a process to do it, I have tried it numerous times but it never works. Dealership has all but given up as well

O, didn't know that was possible. Will have to consult the owners manual.

Saw reading it today that if you hold the lock button for 3 seconds it will close all the open windows as well. Haven't tried it though. Think it works the other way around as well to open all the windows.

Can confirm it works on my fiesta titanium with keyless entry. Both opens and closes windows on second press.
