Hi everyone.
Me mum spilled coffee over the car's radio the other day, effectively killing it.

I removed the ACM and front control panel, but it appears to be damaged, beyond my repair skills.
I used forscan to scan for it on the network, couldn't find it. Ford mechanics could not find it as well with Ford ETIS.
Since it is not easy to find another ACM replacement, I don't want to even ask the Ford dealer for a replacement ACM, since it would be not cheap or there's no stock in South Africa.
I searched high and low for a replacement ACM, even going to a scrapyard with some radios, couldn't find any.
The car's reverse parking tones is supposed to play over the speakers, but did not this time, with her ramming her car's rear-end to an old lady's vehicle passenger side door. Sigh.
I told them over and over. DO not depend on the damned rear parking sensors, even if they are working half the time. That's why we have a pair of eyes to see...
It makes me mad to hear that my lovely parents drink a full cup of instant coffee in the car, where IT can tip over. just two days ago, my dad was drinking coffee on his way to church, spilling coffee all over his lap. Where does this end????

Anyways,
Is there anyone on the forum who can help me get a replacement ACM? Like, someone you know, or something?
I think that my local ford-dealer can help me to program the ACM, but just need to get one.

The model of this ACM is:
CV4T-19C107-GG
Any other compatible units would be:
CV4T-19C107-GD
CV4T-19C107-GE
CV4T-19C107-GF
CV4T-19C107-GH

I know that this is not a scrapyard dealer's forum, but it has been a few months now, and I'm getting fustrated at not getting a replacement ACM.

Just to add, I found someone in Pretoria who does these vehicle infotainment system repairs, but I have to bring the whole car to Pretoria, just for this damned radio to be fixed, and to be honest, I don't really know if the guy is going to rip me off.
That's why I want to replace it myself.

Hi GD,
Have you come right with this by any chance? My radio made a slight pop and then nothing. (CV4T-19C107-GG) I tried one of the aftermarket 9" screens but the problem is the the "Park Pilot" (Auto Park) -- does not work, so not really an option and Ican't seem to find anyone who can fix these damn ACM's Apparently "Belsee" does work in general ...... but still not sure it if works with the Park Pilot??

The park-pilot system is hooked into the ACM, so you're probably better off replacing the ACM if you want the park-pilot back. Are you sure the fuse was not the problem?

Yes, I had found a replacement. It worked, but I had change some little settings (AsBuilt) in ForScan to make it work properly. I still have the old one in my cupboard.

I found the replacement on Gumtree, had to travel to Bedfordview to get it.

Also, the car has been sold recently.

Hi,
No, not a fuse...just lost sound, everyhing else works. Also trying to sell the car now (Not selling it because of problems!, justnot driving it anymore.) I also did the 200k km 10 year cambelt /wp servie, gearbox service and just as I was about to start advertising it... boom the radio goes.!! lol

Will check on Gumtree thanks for the info.

Hi, I found a unit but not sure if it will work? It comes from a 2016 Titanium and the product code is CV4T-19C107-VA. Mine, the last 2 letters are "GG" Would this be able to work or recoded?
Thanks G

I was lucky mine was a GD.

Seems like all the others may have hardware/software differences.

Best to probably buy it and see if it works?
Yours is broken anyway.

Best to make sure that the connectors on the back matches with the vehicle's connector harness. IIRC, there's four connectors. Two big ones and the white and black RF connectors. Be careful to not break the small connectors, they have a pin, that you can reach from the top of the connector with a flathead screwdriver. Also make sure not to mix those two up.

A photo of the seller sent me. You can reach in between the RF wire and body, from the top, there should be a little "button" on top of the RF clip. If you press that clip button, it should come loose.

Hi, I amanged to get a GE unit from a breaker in PMB. R1000 bargain (I think!) The sam guy still has a- VA also for a grand!
Thank you for all the help...now I can sell the car before somerhing else breaks!!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update. So the 2nd unit I bought also failed after a couple of months, but fortunately I managed to figure out how and where these units fail. The fix is 5 mins. (It takes longer to take the unit apart than it does to fix it!) As these board get hot...and they do get very hot some of the surfave mount componrnts actually detach from the board. The culprit is very eay to find. It's actually on the underside of the board(You will notice the colour change in the board where most of the heat is generated) Anyway, the problem is R224 right next to Q201. R224 needs to be "re-flowed" as it is more than likely loose from the board. You can fix it with a soldering iron with a very fine tip (I did first one with a soldering), but a heat pen (Hot air) works better. Then, before I put the board back into the housing I just put a flexible thermal pad on Q201 to help pull the heat into the metal casing and new thermal paste on all the heat sinks.... so far so good. If you need any help or info....please let me know as I am happy to help!

Have you perhaps taken pics whilst doing this repair?

Hi Zack, Unfortunately not! I do have a pic showing the chip on the board. Mine basically fell off when I rubbed over it. The other ones I fixed, it was basically just dry solder joints, so reflowing did the trick. Remeber to put new thermal paste and thermal pads as these radios get very hot.....

Good luck! If you don't come right let me know, I have 4 working units here and do service exchanges. R500 for a repaired unit and you give me your old one.

Thanks for the info and pic. Just to clarify, all the units you repaired had the same issue?

Hi, Most of them yes.... Just dry solder joints, so re flowing did the trick...

You need "reflow" station like "Kada" or similar.....

Had one where the amplifier was blown, but also quite easy to fix. Got the parts on Aliexpress.
