I love how they compare these bakkies to the camry on the american top gear. Then it comes to SA and it costs nearly R1000000...

Ugly, brash, poorly built, cheap materials, fuel guzzlers. It's why the hilux is still the king.

The Raptor, like the second hand one in Nam that I posted above, is a $50 000+ car in the US (new). Then add insane SA import taxes, horrible exchange rate and the RHD conversion and the price will be over a R1 000 000. The Camry is a $30 000 car max over there and you cannot compare the 2.

I agree with that on the normal F-150 models, but the Raptor is something special. I would love to take one for a spin in the Namib desert...

My dream car. *fap fap fap fap fap fap*

@ Haldex put Hilux High up your _____ Clue: Begins with "A" Ends with a double 'S" and is another name for a donkey

Like I said, ugly, brash, fuel guzzling, cheaply made and the hilux is still better, can't carry as much manure as the F450, but who's measuring :)

What's the point of 6.7l V8? So it can go over a speed bump? :D

This is another reason why the F150 makes no sense for SA. A T6 Ranger has a loading capacity of 1077kg with a 2.5 petrol or 2.2 diesel engine. An F150 can carry 1710lbs (775kg) with a 3.7 engine or 1810lbs (821kg) with a 5l engine. Only when you buy an F150 with the Heavy Duty Payload Package will it carry more than a Ranger. Even then the F150 maxes out at 1415kgs.

Wasn't my opinion, was said on Top Gear US when they tested the Raptor. Just thought it was interesting.

Weird. I don't remember Tanner saying that... Remember him loving the Raptor.

Yeah. They loved it, and compared it in price, to the Camry. Saying something along the lines of:"for the money you can either buy a raptor or a Camry, I know which one I'd pick"
That episode where they had the Raptor racing against a skydiver IIRC..

Just as a matter of interest:

Almost double the price of the most expensive Camry...
