Who would've guessed my first thread wouldn't be Tech related.

I need some info and understanding, i'm going away for business and i would like to know more about what monies if any that i should be getting, my step-dad gets a fair amount per day which in the end is why i'm going, we all work for money right?

Its an African country but not neighboring Good ol SA, if that makes a difference and should be a week long trip.p

Depends on the company
Some will give you a fixed amount of money per day and it is up to you to live on that, others will expect you to keep receipts and they will refund you. Best go talk to HR or your manager

Uhm...this is a question for your HR department, not an online forum.

Depends on the country, New York, $100 a day which includes food and transport. Cleveland Ohio, $60 a day. Africa will scale differently obviously.

i don't want to know what the company says, i want to know if there's a law or something about it. Like why would sars have this.

THat is in essense per country what you don't have to pay tax on if your company gives you that amount per day.

So is a company liable to to give an employee a curtain amount or is it company specific. My contract only mentions local allowance..

Your company doesn't have to do jack. However, the converse is you don't have to travel.

Most companies will give whatever is fair and reasonable.

You will have to ask your HR department about what they will give you, or your line manager
