Distro being pushed via torrent. Finally, after years of claiming I use torrents to get ISOs, for once I may be telling the truth.

I'll start the DL tonight when I am home.

Most linux ISOs have been served via torrents for years. You can even get LibreOffice via torrent.

I installed ElementaryOS in a VM but I wasn't very impressed. Once I was over the initial "ooo, nice theme" it was just another kludgey GTK based DE. For me, KDE on Debian unstable hits the sweet spot. Kubuntu is way too buggy, and the only other DE that shows promise is LXQt (although I tried that for a while, and it's not quite there yet - still too many rough edges and inconsistencies for me for daily use).

Why would one use this distro? Is it less resource intensive than normal Ubuntu? Busy downloading it and will see what its like.

macOS + homebrew + cask: you can not do any better than that.

Kubuntu +synaptic is better IMO.

But you do have a choice with windows - you can be forced to upgrade to 10 either from 8 or from 7.
