Formatting a linux drive?

Hey, I had a spare computer lying around which I had installed Suse on (no windows, not partitioned, just the linux) but I never really used it. Now I've put the drive into my pc with WinXP cos I need the extra hard disk space. Obviously windows doesn't see the drive.

What I need help with is re-formatting the drive so that windows can use it, google did little for me, and I don't have a windows cd.

Any ideas?

Something like partition magic should do the trick

And then what? Windows doesn't give me the option to format that disk, am i missing something

u need to partition it first so delete all the partitions off that drive make a NTFS partition and format

Any ideas?

Open up Computer Management (compmgmt.msc - in system 32) Go to disk management - highlight the disk. Go to Action > All Tasks

EDIT - You should be able to create the partition there. I dont have a spare drive to detail the exact process for you - sorry.

Thanks for all the help, i managed to work something out with a combination of 3rd party software and the diskmgmt.msc, working like a charm- a big empty charm, marvelous
