I trust advice on Mybroadband, and that is why i ask.

So from the other thread:

I know a toyota fortuner is good.

But which will be better between:
- Fortuner,
- Staria
- Kia Carnival
- Mahindra Scorpio N
- Nissan X-Rrail
- Any other option on a 7 seater

If you offroad and don't care about hijack risk: Fortuner
If you don't offroad or want something that has lower hijack risk than a Toyota: Staria

Both of the above drive quite nicely.

I'd take the carnival over the staria..
Yeah, the Staria looks very cheaply made, I was following one recently, full loaded and the rear wheels already look out of alignment. I know it looks fancy but from where the H1 was, it honestly looks like a step backwards.

The Carnival is a proper 7 seater, but it is expensive.

Find a low mileage older Prado. You won't be sorry.

If you are po3s get a Fortuner - it is a requirement they check before purchase.

Staria is huge and reliable. Great visibility (sit in one and see). Gives off airport shuttle vibes.

The Ford Tourneo is similar but the current one is ugly (new model next year much better). My sister has one with her 3 kids and they love it. Space galore.

Can't comment on X-Trail but they do look nice. Wont be as spacious as the vans though.

VW Tiguan Allspace is very very nice. It's just a pity that the cheaper one is the 1.4T which doesn't exactly have the best reputation or power for the size of the vehicle so you will need to push for the 2.0T. No idea why they don't offer the diesel anymore as that was the best engine out of the lot.

The Kia Carnival is the most luxurious and best looking (IMO) but most expensive and depreciation will likely be off the charts.

Like I said, Most backseats on SUVs are tiny, uncomfortable and useless. Don’t bother getting one. Your kids will be fighting all the time because none of them will want to sit in the back.

Get a Minivan. Staria or Kia carnival if you want everyone to sit comfortably. Forget about SUVs.

Super Carry can transport 11 kids at 4000 rpm.

that's a wild swing between different types of vehicles though

you don't have a preference between a bus or an SUV? they're very different

personally I can't stand the look of the Staria, unless your name is Jean-Luc Picard you shouldn't drive one, I wouldn't touch Mahindra with a barge pole

other 7 seaters you could consider though:
VW Kombi / Caravelle (the O.G. bus)
Ford Everest (seeing more of them these days)
Mazda CX-60
Suzuki Ertiga (way cheaper than most 7 seaters, and it looks a bit less like an Uber XL than the Toyota Avanza)

If it has to be a 7 seater I'd go for the Staria.. actually a really nice car to drive.
