Reddit is what you are looking for... Website... and Mobile version.

Reddit is a great Discussion Board App.... (Well actually Usenet is the original).... but Reddit is a pretty good replacement.

You make an account on Reddit, and then just start searching for your interests in the subReddits.

One of those places I use a lot but have made barely 10 comments in all the years I've been there. The way posts are sorted via upvotes rather than posting date makes it a bit difficult as a forum replacement where you can have decent discussions.
 
Reddit is the only other social platform I interact with (apart from here).

The thing that makes it appealing is being able to find really niche communities where there are hundreds or thousands of other people interested in the same thing.

Reddit gets a bit of a bad rap sometimes, and there are some really toxic communities there but the fact that you can choose which communities to interact with makes that kind of a moot point. If you don't like a specific community, leave that one and join a different one or make your own!
 
Reddit is okay if you choose the communities you join and interact with. Even then you might sometimes have to find a different group to avoid the craziea. It's not so great if you search for something and then participate in a new thread but the users are extremely sensitive, idiots or far left liberals. And there are these annoying automated bots telling you what to do .

I'll take the liberals over the far right any day although most subreddits I'm on are generally non-political or people just have moderate, sane views so it's not something I notice too much.
