After speaking with a source close to Microsoft, GameSpot can confirm that Forza MotorSport 3 is currently in development. Set for release sometime next year, the racer will continue Microsoft's highly customizable racing series after Forza 2's commercial and critical success on the Xbox 360. The first Forza was released for the original Xbox in 2005 to similar raves from reviewers.

GameSpot's source would not go into further detail, saying only that the game was several months into development and would be "massive." However, more information on the game may have appeared as part of a huge information leak sourced to market research group Intellisponse.

Though Intellisponse and Microsoft are declining to comment, a series of documents attributed to it on the NeoGAF forums appear to outline a Mii-like avatar system for Xbox Live and a new 360 motion-sensing Karaoke game. They also appear to reveal exactly how massive Forza 3 is, saying that "due to the number of cars and tracks, the game will be sold as a two-disc set."

How many cars and tracks will Forza 3 boast? According to the documents, the game will sport more than 100 tracks and over 400 cars with "near-limitless customization options for car tuning and custom artwork." The documents also promise the game will introduce several new racing modes--drag, drift, oval, point-to-point--as well as new online community features.

100 Tracks  ! hope its better than those snake named tracks in Frza2

Haha, test tracks FTW! :D

I hope Forza 3's netcode is sorted out because Forza 2's wasn't. If they fiz it and beef up the graphics, I have NO doubt that F3 will be one of the biggest games of '09.

Heck, I still play Forza 2 every week and it just doesn't get old.

I think it has it's work cut out for it. I think both Forza and GT have their work cut out for them trying to stay relevant in a "Post GRiD" world.

Forza 3 will be extremely impressive if they keep the current Forza 2 physics engine and just use a graphics engine like that of Racedriver grid (Grid's damage also look awesome BTW), smoke effects from pro street and weather system from pgr 4 :D But sadly that aint never gonna happen :( ! atleast there will be more tracks !

This is probly gonna end up being like Gran turismo 2 with one disc being the arcade disc and the other disc being the career mode disc !

I bought the xbox 360 premium bundle last Christmas. One of the bundled games was Forza 2. It was alot of fun. I still play it now and then :)

I don't have a steering wheel yet. Are there any decent ones for the 360?

Only two :( The official MS wireless Wheel (which is not officially available here yet) and the crappy weird vibrating logitech Logitech DriveFX wheel ) The driveFX wheel suck IMO had it sold it, waiting on the official wireless wheel now it is pretty good according to some reviews.

Ok cool. Any ideas on the price, as some of us have to save up you know :P

Cheers

The Logitech wheel is under R700 the price will vary depending on where you gona buy it, the xbox wireless wheel i havent found a price yet but i do know sum 1 who bought a grey import and it worked out close to 2k for him

I'll wait for the wireless a bit longer. I suppose its ICASA approval thats holding things up.

Thanks for the heads up!

Got me a MS FFB "wireless" one in germany. awesomeness! Forza 2 has the best FFB code next to GTR FIA. the cars feel so different depending on power, traction, grip, fr/rr/4wd etc...

I highly recommend it if you can find one :p

It burns me that Xbox has no support for the G25. That is the only wheel worth buying.
