So. Let me prefix this by saying I'm not exactly easy to live with, but lately I find that I vacillate wildly in terms of how I feel about my partner. We have some rather glaring issues but I there are time when I know that I love him immensely and the thought of parting ways is a non-negotiable.

Other times I'd happily brain myself on the nearest sharp corner rather than endure a full evening in his company.

Is it normal to flip flop this wildly?

I'm set to move to another country in a few months and I don't want to waste either of our time on a long distance relationship.

Input welcome :)

Forget the mood swings. The bigger issue is that long distance doesn't work if it's for an extended period of time. People who attempt it usually don't really know where their relationship is heading. If there's no set plan (eg. we meet every x amount of time until we're together again in y period of time) then you're wasting your time.

If your relationship is already floundering, then forget about it improving and lasting 30-40 years.

Walk away, take time out and enjoy your life.

@OP

Long distance relationship are harder already without having to work through current issues.
