Fourways Mall misery

Fourways Mall's financial decline is causing trouble for its owner Accelerate Property Fund and its shareholders, which now include Investec.

They also completed their revamp just before the lockdown… so terrible timing

Lockdown was done for the good of the people, the financial issues to come for years afterwards isn't the issue here...

Can’t say I’m surprised. Fourways Mall is one of those weird malls which has everything except a heart. Also the food court, which is the centre of any mall, is too cramped and feels like an afterthought. Did I mention that there are patches of the mall with no mobile signal? With that much brick it’s probably not a surprise, but DUDE. Don’t get me started on the sheer amount of walking required. And the lack of interactive mall maps. And … yeah ok, it just needs new management.

It does feel a bit like it was a few ideas pushed together to form a puzzle. Its lacking flow and ambience.

I've been shopping there almost exclusively lately. The shops are enormous and well stocked and roof parking's a breeze if you know which entrance to use.

I agree though that it lacks both flow and ambience and often there are more shop assistants than customers.

Never mind, a new R33,72 trillion mall, just down the road, is in the late planning stages. That should sort out all the problems.
