Hi All
Not much of a gamer.
Decided to buy a PS3 a few days ago from a buddy. Started playing Medal of Honor and Call of Duty.

How does one get used to playing FPS on a console? My biggest struggle seems to be aiming, I struggle to get it dead center on my target.

Any advice?

Thanks

Advice? Sell it and buy a PC. Only filthy casuals game using a console.

Hehe.

Step 1: Accept that it will never be as accurate as keyboard and mouse.

Step 2: Practice. A lot!

Yeah, practice will be your best bet although many games have a "targeting help" feature that you can enable.

Enjoy the console.

It get's easier with practice. You will also note you have aim assist so as long as you get close to a hitbox the assist will do the rest. Unlike PC gaming where if you not on the hitbox, not hit.

This, its just practice.

I play on XB1, virtually fps games exclusively, and you'll eventually get used to it and develop good aim. Some people are ridiculously good though, they just have it down. I also use analog stick extenders which help for small adjustments.

Don't kid yourself though, if decent console players played against decent PC players they'd get wrecked.

Still, can't play on PC whilst casually lounging on the couch after a long day at work ;)

I was a PC FPS player for years. Got a PS4 a couple of years ago and knew the aim would be too frustrating, so I pretty much changed the type of genre I played.

so my advice, try different stuff. Fallout NV or Red Dead Redemption on PS3 for example.

Or if it must be FPS, then as everyone says practice until you get good at aiming (or your PS3 goes through a window) :p

Should have gotten a 360/PS4/X1. That PS3 controller is schit, not just for FPS...

I play mainly on PC but I find playing shooters with a 360 controller okay. PS4 controller is decent too. Don't know much about the X1 though but I can definitely say that the PS3 controller is absolute garbage for shooters. That being said, nothing will ever beat the precision of a mouse.

Thanks
What is your aim sensitivity set to? I've left mine as default which is directly in the middle of the bar.

I also leave mine on the default sensitivity but I play on PS4 and like most have said already the PS3 controller is crap. The DS4 just feels a whole lot more solid and easy to handle.

Thanks for the responses.

Has anyone seen any improvement using Kontrol Freeks ?

Console is great for FiFA and exclusive titles like Motorstorm and uncharted. It also comes in handy on that hot summer day when your GFX card needs a breather.
