frame error rate?

well for anyone else wondering, its all about quality of signal, if data arrives at the destination damaged and you are connected with TCP/IP (most services will be using this) then you have to send back for the bad data because you can carry on downloading whatever. So if you just fine tune your modem position you should be able to drop the frame error rate if its high, but since we are talking about radio signals there are other factors that can make the frame error rate high so no matter what it is now it will fluctuate.

thanks slim you are right about modem position. i also experimented with a foil parbolic dish which helped. speeds are where they should be but not sure if wbs are also messing about considering port 80 turned off for a bit this evening.

i think they're tweaking. either way things looking better.

Luckly the iburst modem isn't like sentech's whereby you have to leave it hanging on the window. No wonder it hasn't been stolen, yet!

Yeah, and don't start flaming me now ... I AM an iBurst user, but I do need some laughs to get through the day (my whiskey flask at the office is empty) :(
