Hahaha - he played for Free State in the mid-70's and ended his career at Natal in 80/81 (iirc). Monster boot - used to put over 65m penalties.... given - they used a different ball in those days!

I think playing overseas is the best thing to happen to him and SA. Let him mature outside of the toxic South African rugby environment and in two or three years he can come back and become a legend.

SA rugby has a habit of destroying our young talent.

Watched it a few times now and my jaw is still hanging open. It's massive and looked like it could have gone all of 80 metres. Like the commentator said he could have hoofed that from his own 22.
