A few months back two Vodacom accounts were opened in my name, I noticed when the Vodacom debit order went through and I have never had an account with them. I reversed and cancelled the debit order with my band immediately.

I got the required affidavit and copy of my ID and sent it to Vodacom's Fraud Analysis department and have heard nothing back from them. Despite many facebook posts and calls to them, nobody from Vodacom has ever got back to me with any actual info.

The Facebook posts get replied to promptly by their social media team who promise somebody will contact me, and nobody does. When I call customer care, I get a lot of unsure answers, and the one time I actually got through to the Fraud Department, they said their systems were down and they would call back, and never did.

Legally, what can I do to compel them to let me know what action they have taken if any?

Last month two Cell C contracts were opened in my name fraudulently too. I have started the process with them for a refund, because I do have one legitimate contract with them, so I couldn't just cancel the debit order. Hoping they will be a bit better in dealing with this.

Start billing them for your time... and take them to small claims court when they don't pay.
