Do you believe Elections 2008 in the USA will be free and fair?

Well there's no Bush having a brother as Governor in a key state this time around, so you never know, possibly.

Seriously, the Repugs are desperate and are already making noises about vote fraud in the Southern states through their mouthpiece Fox News.

SADC & the AU should send an observer mission.

There'll be definite ballot-box-stuffing in Texas....followed by ballot-box-in-lard-deep-frying.

Election rigging, intimidation, and other anomalies we have in Africa are extremely unlikely to take place in the USA, so yes, most likely free and fair.

On the other hand, more of the same abovementioned crud awaits us next year.

What floors me... is that after 8 years of Bush... the vote is still pretty evenly split between democrat and Republican. Also the level of voter apathy there is apalling. Less than 50% of the population actually vote.

Obama wins = free elections
McCain wins = corrupt

Tin foil hat wearing leftie logic :o

I guess that's why I just heard a FOX presenter just claim the Republicans are running the country into the ground. Not a very good mouthpiece are they

I suppose that is why the Electoral College was put in place. Its assumed that most Americans are too stupid to vote for president themselves. :/

afaik electoral collage was just so that each state could decide how their people could vote for the president based on that state's proportion of the vote ... result of a far more federal country - there are arguments for and against it, not all involving voter intelligence ;)
