Good day everyone... Can anyone suggest a free and trusted sms api to use from time to time... Not bulk sms.

Depends on what you want it to do.

For example you may have an SMS message sent from a device that needs to be sent to multiple people, in which case a Telegram Group / Channel with IFTTT can be used.

yup - for support center notifications telegram was the free solution, and very easy to setup

Maybe I should add by saying... (My mistake) .... I would like to use it to send sms's to myself from SQL Server in order to monitor SQL Server Jobs ...

Telegram sounds a lot easier but if you need SMS for some reason you can always add an old USB modem and send the SMS that way, you will still need a SMS bundle which is not that much.

To yourself for free, a telegram bot.
SMS costs, you're not going to get it for free, for really low volume it's about R0.27 per.

Can PM me if you want to discuss more on this.

Nothing free can be "trusted" - it's likely free because they're making money off selling your information to advertisers.

Not saying paid options won't do the same but at least you'll know the service will be reliable. I'd recommend something like the Amazon SNS service, it has a fleshed out API and is reliable.
