Free Anti-Virus

So ya BitDefender helped me a lot, and that was BitDefender 2008 not 2009, so I don't know how good the new one is.

BitDefender 2009 runs on the same scanning engine as 2008. Not much new features in the new version. But they both cost money, and are not free as the OP asked for. ;)

Yes, but that's on-demand only, not resident; they don't recommend it for broadband connections.

It seems like a nice idea for an additional AV to do a scan with once in a while though.

Well, I just came to the conclusion that it sucks... cos it so often fails to load properly that I now have a virus because of it. ... and the flipping updates are huuuuuge! ... like 300 Mb at a time.

*** crosses BitDefender off the list as well ***

Disagree- AVG free sucks

i love it, maybe needs a bit of skills to run it!!

Yep... quite sure... and that's where I cut it off. Would have gone on for more. It's the install exe I downloaded about 6 months ago, so I knew it was a little bit out of date... but I have used older AVG installables before... never had to download that much though. I'll go and do a size search on that new folder at the office tomorrow if you want!

Impossible. I use BitDefender 2009. Update files are about 2MB each.

Ja, sorry... I lied and made it all up, I was on drugs at the time, as is my habit on Fridays. I just wanted to impress you guys.

The 467 MB I used on Friday was actually me just downloading my little pony wallpapers...
