Free Bandwidth from SAOL - Today Only!

Xbox Live, sucks for South Africans, thought with a SAIX account it may be better than an IS but alas :( guess im going to have to forkout a ton for unshaped...

Same here, figured how to download xbox live stuff onto pc, so with multiple threads im getting great speeds, loving it :) Thanks SAOL! If only this is what kind of bandwidth we could expect next year...

I think an international Usenet Provider and SAOL 10gb is on the cards for next year.

I am happy with my TelkomInternet accounts if they just keep the capping policy they had.

2x TelkomInternet (WebAfrica as backup) and 30GB Local Only is okay for me. Although uncapped is always nicer.

There is the problem. 2007 is going to be a guess game year with Telkom and IPTV and ADSL2+ and whatever else so id rather buy guaranteed bandwidth. :)

Id also like to. Someone, think it was Gangstarr mentioned that there is a new capped policy whereby capped users will be allowed to access select sites and services which makes me wonder about the softcap policy they currently have allowing users to go over their cap. Ill stick with SAOL thanks. :)

And i'll stick with Openweb and WebAfrica as well.

Uncapped local would be welcome certainly. This "view certain sites" bollocks does not fill me with anticipation...:|

I think if IPTV is launched Telkom will push local only SAIX accounts - possibly uncapped or with very large caps(30gb<??).

Well IPTV requiring 4Mbit, being 1.5GB per hour almost, that would be less than 15 hours of TV... Its gonna have to allow 24 hours of watching if a person wants to, otherwise back to MultiChoice goes the customer.

Well not entirely uncapped local - more like uncapped local for a pre-selected list of local sites. IPTV, Internet Banking, etc.
At least that's the idea I get when reading all this info. I mean can you imagine Telkom providing uncapped local that P2P users can abuse to their hearts content?
