*Subject:* bludgeoning monks by the 'lone-tein'

We just got phone call with our sister living in Yangon about a
few hours ago.

We saw on BBC world, saying that 200 monks were arrested. The
true picture is far worse!!!!!!!!!

For one instance, the monastery at an obscure neighborhood of
Yangon, called Ngwe Kyar Yan (on Wei-za-yan-tar Road, Yangon) had
been raided early this morning.

A troop of lone-tein (riot police comprised of paid thugs)
protected
by the military trucks, raided the monastery with 200 studying
monks. They systematically ordered all the monks to line up and
banged and crushed each one's head against the brick wall of the
monastery. One by one, the peaceful, non resisting monks, fell to
the ground, screaming in pain. Then, they tore off the red robes
and threw them all in the military trucks (like rice bags) and
took
the bodies away.

The head monk of the monastery, was tied up in the middle of the
monastery, tortured , bludgeoned, and later died the same day,
today. Tens of thousands of people gathered outside the
monastery,
warded off by troops with bayoneted rifles, unable to help their
helpless monks being slaughtered inside the monastery. Their
every
try to forge ahead was met with the bayonets.

When all is done, only 10 out of 200 remained alive, hiding in the
monastery. Blood stained everywhere on the walls and floors of
the monastery.

Please tell your audience of the full extent of the fate of the
monks please please !!!!!!!!!!!!

'Arrested' is not enough expression. They have been bludgeoned to
death.

HOLY SHYT !!!!

Kill the bloody army... send in all the forces you can find.. WTF is this world coming to ? Killing Monks that don't even bother the grass

Its actually unbelievable what some people are capable of. The killing of the monks of all things? Somebody needs to step in and do something, killing all militants would be a good start. That or the people themselves need to stand up and rebel against such tyrany. Saddens me to hear that the most peaceful people on this planet are targetted and beaten as if they were terrorists...

This is absolutely horrible, heart-breaking stuff. And what does the world do? Discuss it, and institute a few more sanctions against members of the military regime....and probably sell weapons to them on the side.

Burma has had a military regime for 45 years.....and America has never paid much more than lip-service to bringing and end to it. Perhaps the monks should announce that they have discovered oil in the back yard of one of their monasteries. That's sure to get the Americans' attention.

I suggest a UN force invade the country, get rid of the f*king generals, arrange free elections, oversee the after-election period for six months, and then leave them to run their own country.

I think you have it wrong.

America wanted to invade... but NO because of SA's vote and another UN rep. This was scratched from the roll.... This could have been prevented a long time ago

South Africa preventing America from attacking another country?!!!!

Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaa

The whole world couldn't stop them from invading Iraq when they wanted to!!

And by the way, that's why I say a UN force, not a f* American one. Americans don't liberate....they grab.

What the U.N attack

Gee what are the chances

Thats right, the good ol' US will just have to say "screw the UN" and go in anyway. Hang on, is there oil in Burma?

Quoting from the VoaNews Article
The Security Council voted nine to three in favor of the measure, but it failed because of vetoes by Russia and China.
The motion was of course not about "liberating" Burma, and also it was discussed long before the current crisis in the country.

Nobody wants a second Vietnam or Cambodia in Burma, where Americans commit horrendous crimes against civilians. If action is taken against the regime it should be done by an international force whose members accept that their actions might be judged afterwards in the War Crimes court in The Hague.

Since the Americans refuse to subject their soldiers to the authority of the court in The Hague (Source), they should not even be allowed to take part in such a force.

This is of course quite clear throughout Western Europe, Japan and S.Korea

Hurry to your US bosses, AlanF. You're going to get a special weekend bonus for dog-loyal support......

And late tonight, when everything is quiet, watch those greenbacks closely....and you'll see the blood dripping from them......

The blood of religious extremists and baathists no problem.

EDIT: How did you come across this site if you don't mind me asking?

You know i could just about buy the invasion of afghanistan after 911, even if it was bit a hasty. But you've got to wonder if bush would have bothered at all if there was no iraq.

We all know about the vast oil fields in Afghanistan:cool:
In 1998, Dick Cheney, now US vice-president but then chief executive of a major oil services company, remarked: "I cannot think of a time when we have had a region emerge as suddenly to become as strategically significant as the Caspian." But the oil and gas there is worthless until it is moved. The only route which makes both political and economic sense is through Afghanistan."

fixed... misplaced a "["

LOL @ Monbiot is that French for Moonbat :D

Seriously though if Afghanistan and that region of the world is stabilised then obviously oil and gas we become more accessible.

South Africa has become like a monkey in the UN Security Council veto'ing things! Protecting Mugabe and other similair leaders against sanctions.
Burma have one of the biggest armies in the world, so not so easy to attack/invade. Maybe once China need more natural gas then things will change there....
