UPDATE: 2 routers and a tunnel to another lab site have been added.

I have started a free Cisco Catalyst Switch Lab.

Just login and have fun!!

telnet 72.205.54.70 49001
telnet 72.205.54.70 49002
telnet 72.205.54.70 49003

For network diagram and updates, go to http://labswitch.blogspot.com. Thank you!

Thanks lanswitcher!

shakes1, this is basically a simple network built where you can go and do configurations on, i.e. configure routing protocols, etc. on the devices as a means to study or gain experience with using the IOS, etc.

Aaaaaa, a lab, stupid me!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good starting point to learn? Remember, I know nothing about Cisco.

The free lab now has 6 switches (4 of them L3 capable), and can be used to simulate Cisco's 3 layer model: access, distribution, and core.

telnet 72.205.54.70 49001
telnet 72.205.54.70 49002
telnet 72.205.54.70 49003
telnet 72.205.54.70 49004
telnet 72.205.54.70 49005
telnet 72.205.54.70 49006

I don't think I will add anymore. I might add some 2621 routers as part of a routing tunnel lab.
Topology posted at http://labswitch.blogspot.com .

I definitely would like to see more people from South Africa and all of Africa logging in!

2 routers have been added to the lab. There is also a tunnel to a lab site in Bucharest.

If you have some Cisco routers or switches you want to tunnel to my lab, please contact me. Thanks!

From a security point of view.

Are we just supposed to expose ourselves like that by just "telneting" into an unknown device you supposedly say is a router/swtch.
What if you're trying some clever method of gaining access to our networks #reconnaissance attack.
I'm not trying to be a dush but just concerned, i mean Telnet is not even secure.

Yeah....the only info he will get from you telnetting is is your ip address you connecting from. I'd hope from there your network is secure, which most should be unless you totally stupid and left your dsl modem's admin interface open to the internet and left the default admin password on.

1. It's douche, not dush. "Dush" is a sounds, as in "da-da-dush".
2. If you don't feel safe doing this, then don't.

Hats off for someone willing to make this available. And I agree, if you expose yourself by doing something as little as telnetting into a router, well, then you have bigger issues you might think....

"little as telnetting into a router" ?? Dush. 1-A person that feels necessary to be a total jackass.

Sorry for the delay, Friday braai
NO need for name calling, or Punctuation corrections as long as you can understand the point i'm trying to make.

Only reason im concerned is i was taught telnet is very vulnerable and from a self proclaimed hacker as well, but il decide for maself
Thanks anyway i checked out the site and the Lab,
Layer 3 switching, redundant connections, and possibly some etherchannel, just to safe i'l compose it on Packet tracer and configure there.

1. You're still spelling douche wrong... FFS!
2. You are correct that Telnet *could* be insecure...if you are on the receiving end, i.e. incomming connections. Outbound telnet connection really don't pose much of a risk to you. For someone throwing big phrases around like "Redundant connections", "Etherchannel" and "Layer 3 switching" you really ought to have known this...

@Srothman, Going to church everyday doesn't make u a christian, like standing in a garage way make u a car.

Most Common + Most Vulnerable = Most Dangerous, il stick to "SSH" then.
