Can anyone recommend a good free DNS that I can move all my domains to?
I was using both everydns and free.editdns but both just got bought by dyndns.

I'm using the free one provided with namecheap.com but they require auth sent to the domain admin, so it's useless if you need to register a new domain.

No, dyndns has free dynamic dns, like where you need to route a hostname to your ip.
But for the actual DNS for your own domain you need to pay.

I think most DNS providers are pretty inexpensive. Ghandi or godaddy or something is probably your best bet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have some stuff currently with godaddy and their interface is so slow I could cry - so won't be using that. Gandi is quite an interesting name for a company, but sounds pretty dodgy :-/

They're not dodgy, promise.
We use them for some of our domains and the big benifit is security certificates.
I think they're one of the most popular companies as well.

Thanks for the recommendations :) CloudFlare looks like the way to go.
